Fun fall fashion!

Fun fall fashion!

This year has been all about the retro revival and we are here for it! From vintage inspired patterns to bright colours and neons, fashion has been throwing it back!

I think I really resonate with these fashion trends because, other than bringing on some serious nostalgia, I am so happy to put my son in clothes with colour! I feel like there has been quite a long period of beige and neutrals dominating the market. I don’t have anything against neutrals as I truly believe they create great staples and work for multiple children regardless of gender but I don’t think they are particularly…fun. So I’m really happy to see some more playful concepts coming through! After all, kids are only little once and it should be fun for them. It also makes it extremely fun to shop for my son!

Looking forward into fall and winter, you can definitely expect to see dungarees, pinafores and flares dominating these retro looks as well as more metallics and bold florals. It feels like we are pulling away from retro hippie and going for a more retro punk vibe, especially with more silvers and metallic colours coming through. There definitely seems to be a strong comfy and cozy oversized sweat sets look with beanies and sneakers. All the colour and all the comfort with blurred gender lines.

Some styles we are obsessed with at the moment:

Zara kids Hot Wheels line:

In general Zara boys fashion is always on fire! But recently it’s been so so good and whoever they have on their design team is doing a great job! I’ve basically ordered one of everything from this line! It also made me settle on Jackson’s second birthday theme…hot wheels!

H&M character sweatshirts:

Now hear me out on this one! I know a lot of parents hate the character themed clothing, but I think H&M has nailed some really cool cartoons and games that are retro enough to fit in with the current trends. They are also affordable and in my opinion can be styled in such a way that they can be parent approved too. Win win for everyone!

As much as I love these items I do want to shout out some smaller shops too! I’ve been getting some great consignment products from oh baby consignment in Kelowna. They always have new products in and always great quality and selection. They even do shoes and I’ve seen some really great nikes, adidas etc listed on there for fraction of the original price. Oh Baby also stocks Binky Bro, which is pretty hard to find in Canada and has the coolest boys clothes. They only charge $10 for shipping so no excuse to not support them from anywhere in the country!

And of course let’s not forget about the Little Wilder fall capsule collections! Cool and comfy long sleeve tees for every day with matching corduroy 5 panel hats and beanies. Even mum and dad can get involved with this look as we just released our first adult matching ‘stay wild’ beanie!

Whatever your style is I think the best thing to do this season is simply keep it fun! Let these kids wear colours and characters like we used to…back in the day!
